The NAMB Legislative and Regulatory Conference is the advocacy event of the year. The two-day event features speakers from Congress, Veterans Affairs (VA), the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and more.
Day two kicked off with a VA update. Next, we heard from Julie Shaffer, Acting Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary. After that, Tony Hutchinson from Freddie Mac brought us up-to-date on Freddie Mac's enhanced programs and initiatives. Lastly, we learned about the new CFPB legal challenges for mortgage brokers and lenders concerning discrimination based on where you generate your mortgage applications.
